Effective Motivation on How to Lose Weight

March 31st, 2009

Many experts agree that the best tool for people who are obese or overweight to lose weight is having enough motivation to do so. Why? This is because if the person is motivated enough to look better and feel better about his or herself, this is will fuel the drive to lose weight.

Many people who are over weight suffer from low self-esteem because of their physical appearance. This is why many of them are contemplating on losing weight. But since losing weight is not an easy task, motivation from other people and from one’s self is needed to be successful.

Motivate yourself to lose weight

Losing weight entails not only lots of motivation but self-discipline as well. If you are motivated to lose weight, the first thing that you need to do is to determine the real reason or reasons why you would want to lose weight. By doing this?establishing your reason/s why you would want to lose weight?you will be motivated to do everything you can during the process.

Also, know it in yourself if you can be truly and whole-heartedly committed in doing the things necessary for you to lose weight. By asking yourself if you are ready to permanently change what you eat, how you eat, your behavior and your activity level, the possibility is greater that you would lose weight fast and safe.

Try to look for a back up support system in case you can no longer manage weight control on your own. And, make sure that you are strong enough to deal with possible failure if you do not achieve your desired weight or result.

If you are planning to lose weight by seeking professional help, it is a must that you choose a responsible and safe weight loss program or plan carefully. Make sure that you are willing to undergo for a trial period before investing time, money, and effort in enrolling to a specific weight loss class. Lastly, you should ask yourself how determined and motivated you are and how much are you willing to sacrifice to reach your weight loss goal. For people who are motivated to lose weight but don?t know where to begin, here are some tips for you:

1. Ensure that you will undergo gradual weight loss. This is important because you are avoiding too much pressure on yourself. If you are losing weight without getting irritated, feeling fatigue or weak, then you are doing the right thing. If not, it’s time to reconsider your lose weight option.

2. Always watch what you eat. If you are really motivated to lose weight, you should keep an eye to the foods that you are eating. It is best to consult the food pyramid guide so you will develop a well-balanced diet that will help you achieve your goal.

3. Don?t skip your regular meals. Although food caused you to gain weight, you must understand that you need it in order to nourish your body. Although dieting or cutting down on food intake can help you lose weight, this cannot assure permanent weight loss because you will tend to eat more the next meal.

4. Use your health as motivation. Getting motivated not only on the thought of looking good but the overall impact of losing weight on your health should also be your utmost priority. Make sure that you put more emphasis on your health that your physical appearance so you will lose weight the healthy way.

Different Kinds of Motivation

March 31st, 2009

Ever wondered what gets you up in the morning? It is the hope that comes with a new day. If all hope is lost, you wouldn’t bother to get up and that is one of the things about self-motivation.

Self-motivation is simply the inner drive in each of us that makes us want to succeed. Were you born with it? No but this develops as you grow older thanks to the help of your family, friends and school.

A good example from your parents could be you asking them to buy something you see in the store and they tell you to work for it if you want to get it. One option will be to offer you an incentive like getting good grades and in return, this is given to you as a reward.

If you are grown up already, they will probably tell you to find a job like delivering newspaper or mowing the neighbor’s lawn in exchange for cash. Once you are able to collect enough money, only then will you be able to buy it.

Such examples teach you one thing and that is to set a goal. Since a goal is like an “X” in a treasure map, you have to plan a path so you are able to get there. If you are able to follow the right path, you will be able to get what you want regardless of the objective.

Not everything we want in life is going to be given to us on a silver platter and chances are, this is when you are thinking of giving up. Should you quit? Some people will but you have to fight that urge and continue on. By being to do that, you will soon develop the habit of never giving up and always finishing what you started.

We mentioned earlier that our friends and people in school contribute to self-motivation. While not everyone will share your dreams and goals, this is why you have to socialize with those that have similar interest. Studies have shown that motivation is contagious and if all of you have a winning attitude, there is nothing that you guys cannot do.

In any goal, there will be a few setbacks that will come your way. This will delay your goals but by learning from it, you will be able to overcome it. This in itself is what sets us apart from animals because we are able to learn from others and at the same time discover a few things on our own.

One thing you might learn is that there is some goals that are too far to reach so new ones need to be made. Does this mean we gave up? Some people will think so but there is something good that comes out of it which is our ability to channel our focus elsewhere perhaps to a certain interest or talent that we possess which in the end will make us more successful.

Self-motivation is an ongoing process and the only way we become better and stronger is to make a few mistakes a long the way and also face a few setbacks. In essence, you have to take a certain amount of risk because it is the good times and the bad that makes us a better person.

Action Photography as a Motivation to get into Sports

March 31st, 2009

Many would agree that sports photography is probably the most exciting?not to mention the most difficult?of all the practices of lens work today. Aside from the fact that it hones the skills of the photographer in taking moving shots, action or sports photography can also serve as a motivation for a person to get into any type of sports there is.

Nevertheless, before you get into this type of photography, you should be prepared with all the works that you will have to face along the way. Sports photography usually include shots taken during the game or while the subjects are in their respective field, it is a must that the photographer must be able to ?freeze? moments during the actual event. This is why sports photographers should be equipped with the right photography equipment, trained with enduring tenacity, and fueled with an overwhelming desire to capture each moment and emotion at their best.

Another thing that one should look out for in this type of photography is that it involves so much speed and action, photographing the subjects or players would require more than the usual knack for good angles but also the strength to endure physical limitations during the shoot.

Getting motivated to different sports by taking moving shots

Most photographers would agree that it is inevitable to get motivated to get into any sports if you are an action photographer. This is because you have so much exposure in the different fields and you might want to feel the triumph or defeat any athlete goes through.

Many would agree that the best thing about sports photography is that the photographer?aside from enhancing a skill such as freezing a single moment that contains pure and raw emotion and share it with the public in print?is that he or she become motivated to get into sports.

Most people who get into action photography are motivated to get into a particular sport because of the exposure on the sports themselves. If you are into photography and quite interested in taking adrenaline-pumping shots, you should familiarize yourself with different kinds of sports first. Since each sport varies, the styles and techniques used in capturing and freezing each moment also vary.

If you are already in the field taking photos, it is necessary that you have a brief background about the sport you are covering. Knowledge in the fundamentals of coaching style, sport rules, and players will help you identify their most interesting angles. It is also a must to identify your ?safety? (a shot that is easy to shoot and can be published if you don?t get good photos all throughout).

The basic sports that photographer use as a motivation include baseball, basketball, football, soccer and hockey, volleyball, golf, track and field, gymnastics and figure skating, and motorsports and other racing events.

More often than not, the people who use action photography as a motivation to sports are already seasoned photographers. Because of their dedication to their craft, a part of them would want to partake on what’s going on. Although this is true, it does not mean that newbies could not try. If you are one of those people, always remember that if you will be using action photography as a motivation to sports, you should prepare yourself to the strict guidelines needed in order to be a successful sports photographer.
